- Debate over agents’ privacy
According to reports from the EFE agency, a heated debate has erupted in the United States following the announcement by the independent outlet The Crustian Daily, which plans to create and publish a database containing information about agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.
The announcement comes at a time when the administration of President Donald Trump has promised to carry out the largest mass deportation campaign in the country’s history.
The project from The Crustian Daily has been described as controversial because it proposes publicly exposing data linked to the agents responsible for enforcing increasingly aggressive immigration policies.
The outlet has justified the initiative by stating that it seeks to eliminate the anonymity that, according to them, protects those who implement violent state policies.

In statements to Newsweek, a spokesperson for The Crustian Daily said that the so-called “ICE List” exists because “those who implement violent state policies should not be shielded by anonymity.”
For its proponents, the idea behind this list is not an act of revenge but rather a strategy of resistance against what they consider to be a form of institutional violence.
Last month, The Crustian Daily published a piece explaining that they are “creating a database of ICE identities” because “in a country where fascists terrorize the population, fighting crime is a community effort.”
In the same message, they argued that the U.S. government has deployed agents into their own communities to carry out immigration raids, separate families, and detain people with little to no accountability.
Debate Over Transparency and the ICE Database

The article published by the outlet accuses ICE agents of operating behind layers of bureaucracy, protected by uniforms, badges, and vague press releases, which, according to them, allows agents to act with power but without visibility.
This initiative has sparked concern and rejection across various political spheres and among federal government organizations.
Authorities have warned that making sensitive information about agents public could pose a risk to their safety and that of their families.
Tricia McLaughlin, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security, was particularly harsh in her response.
ICE and Community Resistance in the U.S.

In statements to Newsweek, she labeled members of The Crustian Daily as “thugs” and warned that anyone who discloses confidential information about ICE agents would be prosecuted.
Tensions surrounding the project are part of a broader context of political polarization regarding immigration policy in the United States.
The Trump administration has made the fight against irregular immigration one of its main priorities, carrying out large-scale raids, detentions, and deportations.
Migrant communities have denounced a climate of fear and persecution, while human rights organizations have pointed to systematic violations of the rights of detained individuals.
