Military tensions in the Strait of Hormuz escalated again on Thursday.

Iranian state media reported clashes between Iranian forces and what they described as “enemy units.”

According to Iranian state television, Iranian forces launched missiles against targets in the strait.

The targeted units reportedly withdrew after the exchange of fire.

The episode followed a U.S. military offensive against an Iranian oil tanker.

The situation increased pressure on one of the world’s most sensitive maritime routes.

The explosions were reported in Bandar Abbas and on Qeshm Island.

Media outlets linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attributed the incidents to clashes with enemy forces.

Two senior Iranian officials told The New York Times that the United Arab Emirates allegedly attacked three targets on Qeshm Island.

According to those reports, the action would have been retaliation for an earlier Iranian attack against the Emirati city of Fujairah.

The reported targets included Bahman Pier, a shipbuilding facility, and an Iranian air base in Bandar Abbas.

Fars News Agency confirmed damage in the commercial areas surrounding Bahman Pier.

Mizan News Agency stated that some explosions on Qeshm Island were caused by air defense systems.

According to the report, several small drones were shot down during the operation.

Tasnim News Agency reported that two drones were intercepted over Bandar Abbas.

The outlet also stated that warning shots were fired at vessels in the strait.

Iran issues warnings against the United Arab Emirates

The accusations regarding the involvement of the United Arab Emirates have not yet been officially confirmed.

However, several Iranian media outlets presented stronger claims.

Tasnim reported that the attribution came from “certain sources.”

The outlet added that there is still no official confirmation from the Iranian government.

Even so, Tasnim warned that the United Arab Emirates “will pay the price” if its involvement is confirmed.

The statement increased diplomatic tensions across the region.

Mehr News Agency went further.

The outlet claimed that Abu Dhabi directly attacked the Qeshm pier.

The conflicting reports increased uncertainty regarding the true scope of the clashes.

So far, no official casualty figures have been released after the Iran missile attack.

Ceasefire faces renewed pressure

Although the ceasefire with Iran has been in effect for just over a month, military clashes continue.

Operations in the region have not fully stopped.

The United States and Israel have continued military actions since the beginning of the conflict with Iran on February 28.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a strategic focal point in the confrontation.

President Donald Trump recently expressed optimism about a possible agreement with Iran.

According to the president, there remains a possibility of reaching a political understanding soon.

However, the latest confrontations reflect a situation that remains highly unstable.

The violence in Hormuz demonstrates that negotiations continue facing major obstacles.

The crisis is also keeping international attention focused on maritime security in the region.

Any escalation could affect the regional balance and further increase military pressure in the Middle East.
