Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, an 11-year-old girl from Texas, tragically took her own life after enduring relentless bullying from classmates who threatened to report her family to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
She passed away on February 8 after spending five days hospitalized in Dallas.
For weeks, Jocelynn was targeted by cruel harassment at Gainesville Intermediate School, located approximately 70 miles north of Dallas.
Her classmates would taunt her, saying she would be left alone if her family was deported.

Her mother, Marbella Carranza, told Univision that she had hoped for a miracle, but her daughter couldn’t recover from the emotional toll.

«My daughter will always live on for me, and I will always love her,» said her grieving mother.
Jocelynn had been receiving support from a school counselor several times a week due to the bullying.

This heartbreaking incident comes amid the intensification of deportation efforts under former President Donald Trump’s administration.
The government has ramped up mass deportations targeting undocumented immigrants, creating a climate of fear for many families.
Jocelynn’s father, Ernesto Alonso Rojo, turned to GoFundMe for help while his daughter was fighting for her life.
«Please help me with my daughter Jocelynn. God bless you,» he wrote on the fundraising platform.
The tragedy has sparked a wave of outrage on social media, with users expressing their sorrow and demanding justice for the young girl.
