A heated exchange broke out between singer Karina (“La Voz”) and Venezuelan actor Fernando Carrillo during a live broadcast of the program Pica y se extiende on Telemundo, where both expressed completely opposing views on the capture of Nicolás Maduro and his wife by the U.S. government.
The debate began when Carrillo openly defended the Venezuelan regime, surprising those present.
The actor claimed the country had been the victim of external manipulation over the past several years.
“I believe that, sadly, everything that has happened to Venezuela over the last 20 years has been induced, because the masks have now come off,” he said.

At that point, Karina interrupted with a blunt assessment of the actor’s career.
“Fernando, you no longer have a career—you haven’t had one for quite some time… You have neither a career nor credibility,” the singer stated without hesitation.

Carrillo responded by accusing Karina of interrupting him.
“You’re cutting off my voice because you’re being rude, my love… Venezuela will rise again—they’re cutting off my voice,” he complained visibly upset.
The actor insisted that the country would rebound “with President Delcy Rodríguez and… with the government,” a remark that further intensified the discussion on set.
Karina, for her part, reiterated that Carrillo risks nothing with his statements due to his lack of media presence and diminished professional relevance. The exchange continued to generate tension until the program moved on to other topics.
