Los Angeles FC is one of three Major League Soccer teams qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, which will be held in the United States across 12 different host cities.

How They Qualified

LAFC secured its spot after defeating Club América 2-1 in extra time in a playoff match. The club had previously reached the final of the 2023 Concacaf Champions League and has earned three major domestic titles in just seven seasons: the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2019 and 2022, and the MLS Cup in 2022.

  • June 16: Chelsea FC vs LAFC (Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta)
  • June 20: LAFC vs Espérance (GEODIS Park, Nashville)
  • June 24: LAFC vs CR Flamengo (Camping World Stadium, Orlando)

LAFC History and Achievements

Founded in 2014, LAFC made its MLS debut in 2018 with a strong fan base and an attacking style of play that set records for goals scored and goal difference in the 2019 season. The club’s 2022 MLS Cup victory was decided in a dramatic penalty shootout, capped by a crucial extra-time goal from Gareth Bale.

Notable Club Legends:

Carlos Vela: LAFC’s all-time leading scorer with 78 goals, also the club’s top assist provider and its most capped player in terms of appearances and minutes played.

Diego Rossi: Talented Uruguayan forward and winner of the MLS Golden Boot in 2020.

Denis Bouanga: Current offensive star, with back-to-back 20-goal seasons and winner of the MLS Golden Boot in 2023.
