Luigi Mangione, 26, has been charged in New York.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated at a press conference that the attack, which occurred on December 4 in Midtown Manhattan, “was intended to evoke terror.”

According to AP Mangione was arrested last Monday in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
The arrest occurred after a customer at a McDonald’s identified his resemblance to the wanted suspect.
At the time of the arrest, authorities found a weapon, a mask and incriminating documents linking him to the attack.
The defendant, currently jailed without bail in Pennsylvania, faces possible extradition to New York.
In the midst of the legal process, Mangione added prominent defense attorney Karen Friedman Agnifilo to his legal team.
The renowned jurist was a Deputy Prosecutor in Manhattan and now practices at the law firm Agnifilo Intrater LLP, which confirmed her hiring.
New York authorities continue working to achieve extradition.
Gov. Kathy Hochul expressed her willingness to intervene if Mangione does not accept the voluntary transfer.
Meanwhile, the case has generated great expectations due to the seriousness of the accusations and the background of the crime.
It should be remembered that Mangione’s arrest in Altoona, Pennsylvania, occurred thanks to the quick alert of a customer who recognized the suspect while having breakfast at a McDonald’s, AP reported.
