A Wisconsin man has been convicted of the murder and sexual assault of a 20-month-old girl.
Marshawn Giles, who was found guilty on 15 charges, was also accused of abusing the girl’s mother, according to The Associated Press.
The jury found Giles guilty of first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree child sexual assault.

The little girl was killed in 2022 due to blunt force cranial trauma, according to the AP.
The autopsy also revealed multiple injuries consistent with sexual abuse.
Three of the 18 criminal charges were dropped during the Wisconsin trial.
Giles’ defense tried to argue that he suffered from a mental disease or defect but a jury decided he was not insane at the time of the crime, according to Fox 11.
