MARTA train evacuated: Monkeypox has been spreading quickly in different parts of the world. Recently a MARTA train in Atlanta was evacuated after a passenger was overheard saying they had monkeypox.

Authorities evacuated the packed train and disinfected it in an abundance of caution. The passenger turned out to be suffering from an unrelated allergic reaction.

Authorities evacuated a MARTA train after a passenger heard another passenger say he had monkeypox. According to WSB-TV, the MARTA train was evacuated and disinfected after a passenger said they had the terrible disease. The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. Monday on a train headed for the East Point station.

Guatemala reports first case of monkeypox

AP reported that the Guatemalan Ministry of Health announced Wednesday that it detected the first case of monkeypox in a man who presented to health services with symptoms and that three other cases are under analysis. In a press release, the ministry said that the patient is a 31-year-old man from Guatemala City who was found to have the virus through tests. He did not give details about how he became infected.

«The confirmed patient did not require hospitalization and is recovering at home, under the monitoring of professionals from the Ministry,» he added. The disease is spread primarily through skin-to-skin contact, but it can also be spread through the sheets worn by someone with monkeypox. Officials ask people to maintain preventive measures
