Tragedy unfolded early Sunday in Oakfield, Wisconsin, when a 12-year-old girl, desperate for help, knocked on a stranger’s door.
This act of bravery led to a disturbing discovery — the girl had escaped from a man who had tied her up and blindfolded her.
Authorities revealed that he had allegedly paid the victim’s mother to spend time alone with the child.

Mother arrested for selling her daughter in Wisconsin

The grim revelations have resulted in two arrests: a 30 or 31-year-old man of Nicaraguan origin, and the girl’s mother.
Since his irregular entry into the United States over two years ago, the suspect has used multiple identities, according to FOX 11 News.
Now, he faces the full force of the law while awaiting formal charges in the Fond du Lac County Jail in Wisconsin.
County Sheriff, Ryan Waldschmidt, praised the girl’s bravery and emphasized the seriousness of the case.
What charges are they facing?

Authorities are determining the details surrounding the crime, and charges could include child trafficking or sexual assault.
The victim and her siblings are being cared for by the County Department of Human Services.
While no further arrests are anticipated, the progress of the investigation could alter this situation.
The Sheriff’s Department has received crucial support from the Fond du Lac Police Department, the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation and federal immigration and customs agents in this sensitive investigation into child trafficking.
