U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the arrest of an undocumented Salvadoran man believed to be a top MS-13 leader operating on the East Coast.

Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity for security reasons.

Bondi confirmed that the individual is one of the top three leaders of the gang in the entire country.

“He lived just 30 minutes from Washington and was extremely dangerous,” Bondi said at a press conference.

The operation began at 4:30 a.m. and had been in the planning stages for several weeks.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin was also present for the official announcement.

The detainee is accused of numerous violent crimes linked to the MS-13 gang.

Bondi labeled him a “terrorist,” citing the U.S. government’s designation of MS-13 as a terrorist organization.

FBI Director Kash Patel reported that 342 suspected criminals have been arrested in Virginia in recent months.

Patel emphasized that these arrests are part of an intensified plan to dismantle gangs with international ties.

Attorney General Bondi criticized the fact that many of these individuals had been living freely in the U.S. for years.

President Donald Trump publicly praised those involved in the MS-13 leader arrest via his social media platform, Truth Social.

Trump mentioned Bondi, Patel, “border czar” Tom Homan, and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.

Noem had recently visited the prison facility in El Salvador where some of the detainees have been transferred.

That transfer was made possible through an agreement with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele.
