After weeks of uncertainty and tension, the presidential elections held on July 28 in Venezuela continue to generate controversy.

According to a report by the Venezuelan News Agency, the verification of the election records has progressed by 60%, as reported by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).

The review process of the records began following a petition filed by President Nicolás Maduro.

It should be noted that the current President of Venezuela was proclaimed the winner by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

However, the opposition has rejected the results, claiming that the real winner was the former ambassador Edmundo González Urrutia, which has intensified political tensions in the country.

In an unexpected move, Maduro decided to go to the TSJ to certify the elections, which has generated even more controversy.

Opposition leaders, such as Enrique Márquez, presidential candidate for the Centrados party and former vice president of the CNE, have questioned the legality of this request.

Márquez even asked the TSJ to annul Maduro’s petition, arguing that it lacks legal basis, according to CNN.

So far, the TSJ has not acted on Márquez’s request, which has created uncertainty about the outcome of this situation.

Meanwhile, the country is on edge about what may occur in the coming days, as the result of this process could change the political direction of Venezuela.

The situation has kept the Venezuelan people in suspense, with eyes on the TSJ and its ability to resolve this complex electoral scenario.

The international community is also closely following these events, due to the implications they could have for the stability of the region, according to CNN.
