Nicki Minaj once again made headlines after appearing Wednesday in Washington during the launch of a new economic initiative by President Donald Trump.

The rapper was invited onstage, where she expressed her support openly and emphatically.

“I’m probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change,” she told attendees at the event.

Minaj said that criticism of her political stance “doesn’t affect me at all” and that it actually motivates her to support him even more.

The event—also led by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent—was designed to promote the so-called Trump Accounts, a savings program aimed at encouraging early wealth creation.

The artist, wearing a striking white coat, announced that she will contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to help fund the initiative.

She also stated that, in her view, the president has been a victim of “bullying,” a remark that sparked immediate reactions among both supporters and critics.

Minaj’s presence marked one of the most visible endorsements from an entertainment figure of the current administration, further amplifying discussion as Nicki Minaj supports Trump publicly.

Who is Nicki Minaj, really?

Born Onika Tanya Maraj in 1982 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, the singer has African and Asian roots.

She began her career in 2004 with several mixtapes, but it was her debut album Pink Friday in 2010 that launched her to international fame.

With five studio albums, Minaj is widely regarded as a central figure in the resurgence of female rap.

For many industry experts, her influence places her among the most impactful rappers in music history.

Evolution of her political stance

Over the past year, Minaj has become increasingly vocal about her support for the Trump administration.

In November, she spoke at the United Nations about religious violence in Nigeria, representing the U.S. administration.

She also attended AmericaFest hosted by Turning Point USA and gave an interview to Erika, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, in which she praised the president.

Although she stated in 2020 that she “wouldn’t jump on the Trump train,” her position has shifted dramatically in recent months.

Her immigration past returns to the spotlight

Minaj revealed in 2018 that she arrived in the United States as an “undocumented immigrant” at the age of five—a detail that resurfaced following her appearance at the event.

On social media, the artist now claimed she is “finalizing my citizenship paperwork,” thanking “my wonderful, gracious, charming president.”

She even displayed a so-called “Trump gold card,” a symbolic credential that sparked fresh public reactions.

Her post appeared to respond to calls demanding her deportation, as the rapper reaffirmed her political support without reservation—once again underscoring how Nicki Minaj supporting Trump has become a defining talking point.
