Olivia Munn was diagnosed with breast cancer

On Wednesday, actress Olivia Munn revealed that she underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with an «aggressive» form of breast cancer in February of last year.
«I hope by sharing this it will help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their own journey,» the actress wrote in an Instagram post.
Munn opened her heart and described the difficult experience she has been enduring for the past year.
The post included a photo from the hospital and a detailed explanation of what happened.
She opened up about her treatment

Munn, 43, explained that in 2023 she tested negative for the BRCA gene and had a normal mammogram.
However, after her OBGYN calculated her cancer risk, he suggested she undergo further testing.
As a result she had an MRI, which led to an ultrasound and a biopsy, which found that she had cancer.
The biopsy found that she had luminal B cancer in both breasts, which is an «aggressive, fast-moving» form of the disease.
She pointed out on Instagram that she feels «lucky» because it was detected early enough to treat it.
‘I want the same for any woman’

«We caught it with enough time that I have options. I want the same for any woman who may have to face this someday,» she continued in her statement.
The X-Men: Apocalypse actress revealed that she has undergone four surgeries in the last ten months, including a double mastectomy and she is continuing treatment.
As she continues her journey of recovery , Munn remains committed to her message of hope and empowerment.
