The 63-year-old former president of Selena’s fan club, who is currently serving her sentence in Gatesville prison, is telling her side of the story in a docuseries entitled Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them.
This documentary is scheduled for release in the United States on February 17, 2024.
In the series, Saldívar claims to have collected evidence about Selena’s murder with the aim of revealing the truth behind the tragic event.
In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Selena’s father Abraham Quintanilla, spoke out about the Oxygen production.
Abraham Quintanilla speaks out

Selena’s father said that neither he nor his family are involved in the project in any way.
In the interview, Abraham said that he wants absolutely nothing to do with Yolanda and that everything she says is a lie.
Quintanilla emphatically declared that he does not want to have any relationship with Yolanda, calling her statements pure lies.
He says Saldívar lacks credibility and questioned the need for her testimony, wondering what she could say that she hasn’t said before.

Abraham Quintanilla also said in the interview that the documentary about his daughter’s murderer will be nothing but lies.
Adding, «No one’s gonna believe what she has to say anyway.»
«Everyone knows there’s zero truth to anything that comes out of her mouth,» Abraham continued.
In the two-part docuseries, Saldívar will tell her version of the events that led to the tragic murder of Selena Quintanilla.
Will Yolanda Saldívar be released from prison?

The documentary promises to address both the professional and personal relationship between Yolanda and the beloved singer.
Yolanda Saldívar’s family will also present unpublished documents and recordings, suggesting that the situation is more complex than it appears.
“I knew her secrets. And I think the people deserved to know the truth.” Saldívar says in the trailer.
Yolanda explains that she did not want to kill Selena but rather she wanted to take her own life: “Things were not as they seem. “I wanted to kill myself, not her,” she continues.
When will Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them air?

The first part of the docuseries will premiere on February 17 and the second part will air the following day, according to TMZ.
Saldívar shot and killed Selena in 1995 after the Tejano star learned that Saldívar had been embezzling funds from her clothing boutique.
Yolanda is currently serving a life sentence, but is eligible for parole on March 30, 2025.
The news of that Yolanda Saldívar could be released from prison in the next couple of years has generated a mix of opinions among fans of Queen of Tex Mex.
