A former school resource officer has been charged with sending sexual texts to a student and now faces new charges in a separate criminal investigation.
Steven Rosales, 34, is now charged with five felony counts of bestiality for having sexual relations with his dog.
The bestiality charges come just days after prosecutors in Washington County arrested him for having an inappropriate relationship with a student at Kewaskum High School.
Until his arrest earlier this month, Rosales was a respected school resource officer at Kewaskum High School.

The school district’s response to the allegations

Kewaskum School District Administrator Mark Bazata gave a statement to WISN 12.
«We are troubled by the allegations in the complaints and are cooperating with law enforcement and prosecutors.»
«Student safety and welfare is a top priority for us.»
According to the Kewaskum police’s Facebook page, Rosales became a school resource officer in September 2022 after joining the department in June 2017.
Steven Rosales faces serious charges

Steven Rosales served as the district’s community service officer, a field training officer and a D.A.R.E. instructor.
Now, Rosales is in jail, facing serious charges in two investigations across two counties in Wisconsin.
According to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, police uncovered several graphic text messages to a witness where Rosales described various sexual acts with his golden retriever.
In an interview, investigators said Rosales did this to get the «witness to be aroused by his actions»

Steven Rosales admitted to trying to send photos as well, but they did not go through.
Kewaskum Police Chief Thomas Bishop fired Rosales from the department.
«Sometimes you learn things about people you didn’t know, and you have to react properly and take care of it as quickly as possible,» Bishop told WISN 12 News on Monday.
The bestiality charges in Fond du Lac County came just days after prosecutors in Washington County accused Rosales of sending sexual texts to a student.
