The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), along with local authorities in Utah, presented new footage on Thursday related to the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on the campus of the University of Utah.
The released video shows a man dressed entirely in black descending from the roof of a university building before escaping toward a nearby highway.
The material comes from a university parking lot security camera and represents the clearest lead so far on the suspect.
The footage was shown at a press conference led by Utah Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Governor Spencer Cox.

The FBI’s anonymous tip line remains active and continues to receive reports from Utah and other states.
Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA and an influential figure in American conservatism, was on campus participating in an event organized by his own group.

The forum was a debate with liberal students, a format Kirk had promoted for years and one that often sparked heated political discussions.
During the event, he was shot and killed almost instantly.
The incident shocked the conservative movement and reignited tensions over security at universities where ideological debates often take place.
After the attack, Kirk’s body was transported to Arizona aboard Vice President J.D. Vance’s plane at the end of Thursday.
The private repatriation ceremony was attended by relatives and political leaders close to his movement.
The case has become one of the most closely followed nationwide, both because of Kirk’s public prominence and the political impact of his murder during an active university event.
Authorities insist they will continue working tirelessly until the suspect seen in the video is captured.
