Pebblebrook High School, located in Cobb County, was briefly closed on Tuesday following an altercation and reports of a gun on campus, according to confirmation from the school district.
A district spokesperson told FOX 5 that, after activating security protocols, the facilities were secured and two students were detained.
Hours later, police located a third student, who was also detained after operations were carried out in the vicinity of the school.
SKYFOX 5 cameras captured the police mobilization from the air, while a ground crew reported that officers were searching a wooded area near the campus.

The incident caused concern among the Pebblebrook High School community and parents, although authorities stressed that students were not in danger once security measures were activated.
So far, the names of the students involved in the events have not been released.

The district also clarified that at the time of the incident, none of the vapor-sniffing dogs used by the school system were present on campus.
These K-9 units were recently incorporated through a partnership with Global K9, with the goal of strengthening security in county schools.

According to official information, the dogs and their handlers are trained to detect explosives and firearms, even when hidden, providing an additional tool to prevent emergencies.
Leroy Hutchins, a member of the Cobb County School Board and father of two Pebblebrook High School students, said the incident demonstrated the effectiveness of the protocols implemented at the school.
“We have put different safety measures and levels of support in place to keep our kids safe. Today we saw how they worked,” he told FOX 5.
Hutchins reminded that one of the most important prevention strategies is active community collaboration under the motto “If you see something, say something.”
Ongoing Investigation and Next Steps
“That’s what happened today. Someone reported what they observed, and thanks to that, a quick response was possible. The students are safe, and the reaction was immediate,” he emphasized.
Although the Pebblebrook High School episode caused alarm among students and parents, the school district highlighted that the swift action of the authorities prevented a situation of greater risk.
The investigation into the origin of the altercation and the alleged presence of the gun remains ongoing.
Meanwhile, the district reiterated its commitment to continue strengthening security with technological resources, specialized K-9 units, and the cooperation of the entire educational community.
