La Huella OVNI: The Infiernillo UFO Case

Jorge Luis Sucksdorf talked about the UFO case of Infiernillo with Rafael Cerda Guzmán. This story happened in 1964 in the foothills of Santiago, Chile.
During that time, the Space Study Center of the University of Chile was in the Andes mountains, more than 4000 meters above sea level under the guidance of expert Gabriel Vial.
One November night, an unusual event surprised two workers of the center.
At 3 in the morning, an odd warmth woke them up even though the outside temperature was between -4 and -10 degrees Celsius. When they went outside, everything was lit up in a red color.
UFO Event in Infiernillo
They looked for the source of this light and, not finding it, decided to hide.
The next day, they saw that their measuring tools were broken. On their way back to Santiago in a Citroen, the car began to break down.
The radio turned off and the engine stopped. While looking at the car, they found a metal-like disc 30 meters in size nearby.
They also saw beings about 90 centimeters tall in green clothes, who looked like they were fixing the object.
The UFO Goes Away
When these beings saw they were being watched, they quickly left in their ship, which flew up and disappeared quickly.
The car started again as soon as the UFO went away. The witnesses continued to Santiago and told their story to Professor Alvear.
This teacher would get famous in Chilean UFO study from some photos in El Infiernillo in 1968.
After looking at the tool records, Professor Alvear found strange evidence that happened at the same time as the UFO event.
Truth of This Case
He was careful in his thoughts but believed the honesty of the witnesses. Vicente Juan Ballester Olmos, a Spanish expert, talked to Alvear later and confirmed the story.
To end, in 1964, two workers of the Space Study Center of the University of Chile met a UFO and its people in El Infiernillo.
Professor Alvear looked into the event and said it was true. This weird event still interests the Chilean UFO group.
