Former President Donald Trump claimed that China violated the recent trade agreement signed with the United States.

Through his social network, Truth Social, Trump stated that Beijing had “totally violated” the deal reached to reduce tariffs.

According to the former president, the agreement had saved China from a “very bad” economic situation.

“I quickly made a deal with China to save them… and now they’ve broken it,” Trump wrote.

The Republican leader did not provide details on how this alleged violation took place.

This was the second deal his administration secured after imposing global tariffs, the first being with the United Kingdom.

Trump recalled that two weeks ago, China was facing “serious economic danger” due to US tariffs.

He said the tariffs were so high they prevented Beijing from trading with the world’s largest market.

The effect, he claimed, was “devastating” for Chinese industry, leading to factory closures and “civil unrest.”

According to Trump, that crisis led him to negotiate in order to stabilize the situation—though not for the benefit of the US.

The agreement established a tariff truce: Washington lowered its tariffs from 145% to 30%, and Beijing from 125% to 10%.

These conditions were to remain in place for three months while a broader pact was negotiated.

Analysts Doubt Reconciliation

However, analysts had already warned that the truce was unlikely to guarantee lasting reconciliation.

Trump’s new statements add more uncertainty to the already tense bilateral economic relations.

In recent days, the US also announced it would revoke visas for Chinese students with ties to the Communist Party.

China called that decision “discriminatory,” and it could affect thousands of students at US universities.

The trade war between the two powers is intensifying once again, with global consequences.

Do you think this new trade conflict will affect the global economy?
