  • Trump dodged crucial questions.
  • Criticism for lack of clarity.
  • General discontent on social networks.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump attended his meeting with Univision’s town hall, where he answered questions from many Latinos… but it went wrong.

And among the complaints made to the former president on the various Univision platforms, where the content was shared, is that he did not answer the questions.

«He never answers the question! He always comes up with other explanations,” said one of the Instagram users.

«Who will do the hard work if you deport the undocumented?» was one of the questions asked to Trump in the Univision forum.

But far from responding specifically, the former president He spent his time sharing what he supposedly did during his government.

«There is nothing more dangerous for an immigrant in the United States than a Latino with papers, crying out for Trump to arrive. Of course, since they are already in here and have already filed their papers, they no longer want anyone to enter, the hypocrisy is something incredible,» he said.

The town hall was broadcast both on television and through the Univision networks, and on both platforms the reviews were similar.

«The question is: Who will do the jobs? Toy waiting for the answer», «what answer? They asked him a topic and he answers another.»

Hours before the meeting with Latino voters, what the Republican candidate would highlight had been leaked.

According to information from Efe, Trump would focus the meeting broadcast by the Hispanic network on Wednesday on his record in economic matters.

As Jesús Márquez, spokesperson for former President Trump’s campaign (2017-2021), told EFE, the Republican would emphasize that during his term Hispanics had a lower unemployment rate than the current one.

Furthermore, inflation was less than 2%, that is, lower than during the Administration of Democratic President Joe Biden.

Márquez alluded to polls, such as a recent one by the NBC network, according to which for 71% of Latino voters the economy is the main issue.

And according to that survey, the economy is what will decide which of the two candidates they will vote for in the presidential elections on November 5.

«The economy, the high cost of living that we have at the moment in the country, inflation.»

That’s what Márquez listed as the main economic issues that concern Latinos and that the Republican candidate has promised to solve.

Your position on immigration

«The money was more expensive with Donald Trump than what is happening now with the economy of Joe Biden and (Vice President) Kamala Harris,» the campaign spokesperson explained.

Regarding immigration, Márquez believes that it is an issue that favors the former president.

Trump has promised to secure the border, in addition to carrying out a mass deportation like never before in US history.

«Those policies that Donald Trump is proposing to secure the border are very welcomed by many Hispanics,» the spokesperson emphasized.

He added that in the last four years more than 11 million undocumented immigrants have crossed the border illegally.

Márquez said that this harms «many Latinos who are already established and who now have to pay the price,» specifically because of the federal spending they entail.

Another of the decisive issues in the current campaign is the prohibition of abortion, which after a decision by the US Supreme Court, the legislation on these procedures has fallen into the hands of the states.

Márquez defends that the former president has already said that he is not going to implement a ban at the national level.
