The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has appointed Congressman Matt Gaetz as the next Attorney General.

This decision underscores his commitment to figures from the most conservative wing and loyal to his administration.

In a statement, Trump expressed his confidence in Gaetz, describing him as a «tenacious and talented attorney.»

Trump assured that Gaetz would end the «instrumentalization» of the judicial system, which, according to the Republican, has been characteristic of Joe Biden’s administration.

WHO IS MATT GAETZ?

Gaetz, a member of the House of Representatives from Florida since 2017 and aligned with the ultra-conservative faction of the Republican Party, has gained notoriety for his unwavering stance towards Trump’s agenda.

The 41-year-old congressman was a key figure in the internal revolt that ousted then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
