“The Secretary of State just handed me a note saying that we’re very close to reaching a Middle East agreement and that they’ll need me very soon,” Trump said with a smile, visibly pleased by the update.

Photos taken by members of the press covering the event revealed that Rubio’s note also suggested Trump post the news on Truth Social to be the first to announce the potential peace deal.

The episode quickly went viral in Washington, becoming one of the day’s most discussed political moments.

Trump Considers Trip to the Middle East

During the same event, Trump announced that he might travel to the Middle East on Sunday if negotiations between Israel and Hamas continue to advance positively.

He said his visit would aim to oversee the signing of the agreement and support the initial implementation phase of the peace plan.

“If everything goes well, I’ll travel to the Middle East on Sunday,” Trump told reporters, reaffirming his commitment to the diplomatic process led by the White House.

According to official sources, the most likely destination is Egypt, where negotiations are currently taking place with international mediators.

Negotiations Progress in Egypt

Presidential spokesperson Karoline Leavitt later explained that Trump will undergo a routine medical exam this Friday at Walter Reed Medical Center. After returning, he will evaluate whether the conditions are right for the trip.

Trump, 79, has repeatedly stated that he is in good health and that such exams are part of his annual schedule.

Delegations from Israel and Hamas have been meeting in Cairo since Monday, alongside mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.

The teams are finalizing the 20-point peace plan designed by President Trump to end the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

Global Anticipation for a Possible Gaza Peace Agreement

Diplomatic sources indicate that the initial terms of the plan include an immediate ceasefire and the release of all hostages held by Hamas — both living and deceased — within 72 hours.

In return, Israel would agree to halt its military offensive and withdraw its troops from Gaza once the releases are completed.

The document also calls for the complete disarmament of Hamas and the establishment of a transitional government in Gaza, to be overseen by an international coalition.

The goal, according to the text, is to create a temporary administration that can pave the way for a lasting political settlement between the two sides.
