How can I vote?
By Mail: Any registered voter in Rhode Island may vote by mail. Applications for mail-in voting must reach the local board of canvassers by 4 p.m. on the 21st day before Election Day, unless stated otherwise on the application form, available at vote.sos.ri.gov/Forms/elections/Forms/voter_registration_form.pdf Voters with disabilities can request electronic ballots, with more information at vote.sos.ri.gov/Voter/AccessibleVoting. Completed mail-in ballots must be returned by mail, in-person at the State Board of Election’s office, or at designated drop boxes, with the State Board of Elections needing to receive them by the close of polls on Election Day.
Early In-Person: Registered voters can cast early ballots in person at their city or town hall during regular business hours in the 20 days before Election Day. Contact your local board of canvassers for their normal business hours.
Election Day: Most voting sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you’re in line by closing time, you have the right to vote.
