Garinger, who shared two children with his ex, Selena Gutiérrez, died tragically.
The accident occurred while he was doing an everyday task, moving and all-terrain vehicle from one parking lot to another at his residence in Boone, North Carolina, on February 28.
The devastating news was confirmed by his mother, Mary Hobbs, who spoke to The U.S. Sun.
«He was just moving [the ATV] from one parking spot to the next for me, so I could back into park,» she began.
Sean Garinger dies in a tragic accident
Unfortunately, strong storms had left the ground muddy, leading to the tragedy that took Garinger’s life.
The ATV abruptly overturned, crushing his skull.
«I ran to neighbors trying to get someone to help me get the ATV off of him. No one answered. I ran back to him,” she explained.
Hobbs called an ambulance and remained with her son until emergency personnel arrived.
A mother is devastated
«There was a huge part of my heart that died with my son on Wednesday. He was my only son, my rock, my strength when I had none left,» she told The U.S. Sun.
Garinger appeared on the sixth season of 16 and Pregnant, with Selena Gutiérrez, the mother of his children.
The reality show follows the stories of young pregnant women during their transition to motherhood.
Now Sean Garinger’s children have lost their father.
