The name of Eduin Caz, lead singer of Grupo Firme, was once again linked to an episode of violence after his identity appeared on an alleged narco banner found in Tijuana, Baja California.
According to reports from Proceso and Infobae, the message was allegedly placed on a pedestrian bridge and discovered on the night of Friday, May 20, raising concern over the content of the threats.
In the text, an alleged organized crime group issued warnings aimed at members of the State Forces and the Baja California State Citizen Security Secretariat.
The message also included direct references to several people identified by name, increasing tension around the discovery.
The Direct Warning Against the Singer

The content attributed to the banner reads: “And you, Eduin Caz, stick to music and stop advocating for the thief Orozco, or we’ll shoot you too. Att. La Maña.”
The text previously mentions Cristian Orozco and other names, in addition to making accusations against officials and alleged links to criminal acts from the previous year.

The phrase directed at the regional Mexican music performer generated the greatest reaction on social media and in the press, as it was an explicit threat.
So far, neither Eduin Caz nor the members of Grupo Firme have issued public statements about the accusation.
Recent Precedent in Baja California
This is not the first time the group has faced this type of situation in the region, since in February 2025 another threat was also reported in Tijuana linked to a scheduled performance.
On that occasion, the message warned that they should not perform at the Mazatlán Carnival, which led to the concert being canceled for security reasons.
Through a statement, the group said: “We deeply regret to inform you that Grupo Firme’s performance scheduled for March 1 at the Mazatlán Carnival has been canceled.”
In the same text, they added that “the well-being of those who have accompanied us on this journey: our family, which is you, our fans, is and always will be the most important thing.”

Official Silence and Growing Concern
The recent discovery once again places the group at the center of a delicate context in Baja California, where the appearance of banners with threatening messages is not an isolated event.
The lack of official statements from the singer leaves open questions about possible security measures or changes to his public schedule.
Meanwhile, the case adds to a series of episodes that have affected regional Mexican artists in different states across the country.
Authorities have not publicly reported any arrests related to the message or any ongoing investigations into the content of the banner, Proceso detailed.
