A shopping mall recently had to be evacuated after an active shooter was reported inside a Home Goods store. According to The Sun, the Department of Public Security of Alpharetta posted an update on Facebook : “As of 12:20pm, officers have located the suspect inside the store and have him contained.”

Alpharetta Department of Public Safety issues statement

According to The Sun, the Department of Public Safety was in charge of informing the public that the officers were at Home Goods on North Point Parkway after receiving reports about a person who was inside with a gun.

Mall employee recounts how the armed person entered one of the stores

As the incident progressed, The Sun reported the presence of Channel 2 Action News who was able to observe several police vehicles. On the other hand, a journalist local outlet WSB-TV reported on Tuesday around 12:44 pm what was happening on the scene.

“For the last 15 minutes, we have been watching SWAT team members go in and out of REI and HomeGoods,” detailed one of the reporters from WSB-TV. The Sun reported that they had the opportunity to speak with one of the employees of the store. Filed Under: Evacuate mall in Georgia.

Immediately, the employee who had the opportunity to speak to WSB-TV immediately knew that something was wrong when his manager “came out of the office and told all of us to run. The store was open, there were customers in the store and we ran,” the employee explained.
