She was an iconic senior influencer from Sinaloa, whose passing has left a void in the hearts of her followers and admirers.
The Mexican influencer passed away on Thursday, March 14, at the age of 88 after being ill for several days.

Her recent passing on March 14 has sparked a wave of farewell messages and tributes, notably the heartfelt farewell from her friend Wendy Guevara.

In her Instagram stories, she posted a photograph showing her embracing La Gilbertona, as they both smiled.
The image is accompanied by an emotional message that reads: «R.I.P. La Gilbertona,» with a crying emoji.

Wendy Guevara’s farewell wasn’t the only show of affection towards beloved La Gilbertona.
Surprisingly, prominent drug kingpins like El Chapo and El Mayo have sent floral arrangements to her wake, showing the influencer’s impact.
One of the most striking arrangements, signed by the Guzmán López family, carries the message «For a person who always conquered smiles.»
This highlights the positive influence that La Gilbertona had on those who knew her beyond social media.

Additionally, other large and valuable arrangements have been received, such as one from Jalisco composed of 2,000 red roses.
It is estimated to be worth approximately 50,000 pesos, and bears the message «You will always be in our hearts, your friends from Jalisco.»
Another arrangement bears the legend, «From your friend Ismael Zambada.» It was presumably sent by El Mayo, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.
On the other hand, a floral wreath was also sent by the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya.
Her legacy will endure
La Gilbertona has left a legacy of authenticity, charisma and connection with her audience.
Her influence transcended generations and borders, leaving a void that will be difficult to fill after her recent departure.
