Mexico’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, publicly addressed the country following the military operation in which Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho,” was killed. However, she avoided going into detail about the leader of the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).
Her message focused instead on the security situation in different regions of the country after the reactions triggered by the operation.
Sheinbaum confirmed that roadblocks and other responses had been reported in some areas following the military deployment that ended with El Mencho’s death.
However, she assured that most of the national territory continues to operate normally.
“We Must Stay Informed and Remain Calm”

Through her social media accounts, the president shared a statement aimed at reassuring the public.
“There is absolute coordination with governments of all states; we must stay informed and remain calm,” she wrote, emphasizing joint efforts between local and federal authorities.

Sheinbaum added that official accounts from the Security Cabinet would provide ongoing updates.
The goal, she said, is to prevent rumors and ensure that citizens receive verified information in the event of any developments.
The Country Continues Operating Normally Despite Isolated Reactions to El Mencho’s Death
In her message, Sheinbaum stressed that despite the roadblocks and incidents reported after the operation, the rest of the country continues with regular activities.
“In most of the national territory, activities are taking place with full normality,” she stated, insisting that the situation remains under control.
The president noted that security forces remain deployed and alert to any incident that could disrupt public order.
Federal authorities confirmed that operations continue to ensure stability in areas where reactions were reported.
Recognition of the Army and Reaffirmation of Security Strategy
Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her recognition of the Ejército Mexicano, the National Guard, and the Armed Forces for their work in recent operations.
She also highlighted the coordinated efforts of the Security Cabinet, a key component of the federal strategy.
“We work every day for peace, security, justice, and the well-being of Mexico,” the president concluded, reaffirming her commitment to national stability.
Her stance aims to send a message of confidence and continuity in the fight against organized crime at a time when national attention remains focused on the consequences of the operation that led to El Mencho’s death.
“The Ministry of National Defense reported the operation carried out this morning by federal forces, which led to various roadblocks and other reactions. There is absolute coordination with governments of all states; we must stay informed and remain calm…”
