MOURNING IN THE WORLD OF MUSIC! Charlie Colin, co-founder and bassist of the rock band Train, has died at the age of 58 after an accident.

Colin, who contributed to Train’s first three albums, was found dead after the friends he was housesitting for returned from a trip.

His death has left deep sadness in the music community, and his bandmates and friends have paid tribute to his legacy.

The music industry is in mourning following the sudden, tragic death of Charlie Colin, one of the founding members of the rock band Train.

Colin passed away at the age of 58 after suffering a fall in the shower while at a friend’s house in Brussels.

The singer’s mother told TMZ that he had been housesitting.

The precise circumstances of his death are not yet completely clear, but authorities have reported that there were no signs of foul play.

How was Charlie Colin found?

Colin’s body was not found until the friends he was housesitting for returned home after a five-day trip.

The sad news was confirmed by his sister in a statement to Variety.

“Charlie had moved to Brussels where he was giving a music master class at a conservatory,” Colin’s mother explained.

“He was also working in a studio and finishing making music for a movie,” she added.

An unparalleled career

Charlie Colin was a crucial figure in the formation and early success of Train.

Born in San Francisco, Colin joined Pat Monahan, Rob Hotchkiss, Scott Underwood and Jimmy Stafford to form the band in the 1990s.

Train quickly established itself as an emerging force in the alternative rock scene, according to Entertainment Tonight.

As bassist, Colin contributed significantly to Train’s first three albums, helping to define the band’s signature sound.

Charlie Colin’s influence on Train and 2000s rock music is undeniable —  his bandmates remembered him on Instagram.

“When I met Charlie Colin, front left, I fell in love with him. He was THE sweetest guy and what a handsome chap,” Train wrote on their post.

“Let’s make a band that’s the only reasonable thing to do. His unique bass playing a beautiful guitar work helped get folks to notice us in SF and beyond.”

“I’ll always have a warm place for him in my heart. I always tried to pull him closer but he had a vision of his own. You’re a legend, Charlie. Go charm the pants off those angels.”
